Norman  L.  Perry
Norman L. Perry, 81, a long-time Carthage resident, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in Indianapolis, IN. Norman was born in Shelby County, IN on August 9, 1931 to the late Fred and Ella Mae (Sallee) Perry. He was a member of the graduating class of 1949 at Carthage High School. He worked until retirement for the U.S. Postal Service and as a barber. He had also worked for the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Children’s Home as a custodian. Norman had served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and was a long time member of the Knightstown Christian Church and a member of the Knightstown American Legion Post #152.
Norman will be greatly missed by a son, Jeffery (Theresa) Perry; a daughter, Brenda Bishop; brothers, Glen Perry and Kenny Perry; a sister, Wanda Rice; six granddaughters; and two great- grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by a brother, Art Perry.
Services will be held at 11 AM Friday, July 26 at Heritage Funeral Care, Knightstown with Pastor Richard Thayer presiding. Friends are welcome to visit from 10-11 AM on Friday morning, July 26. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Carthage. Arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Care.
