John E. Tweedy, 51, of Muncie passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 13, 2015. He was born in Glendale, AZ, on September 13, 1963, to Ned E. Tweedy and Margaret A. (Hodgin) Burns. John was loved by all that knew him and will be sadly missed but never forgotten. John loved spending time with his friends and family and was an amazing father and husband. He was always there to guide his son yet listened when needed. John was very loving with his daughter, Hannah and loved his wife dearly and loved tormenting her in a loving way. John enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and sports and was the best “Simon Says’” uncle ever. He could always make you smile and laugh in any situation and no matter the cause would always lend a helping hand. Having known John Tweedy was truly a blessing.
John was preceded in death by his father, Ned; step-father, James T. Burns; niece, Brittany Wyman; and several aunts and uncles.
John will be truly missed by his wife, Nancy (Hinshaw) Tweedy; son, Jonathan Tweedy; daughter, Hannah Hinshaw; 4 brothers, Gene, Steve, Jeff (Wanda) Tweedy and Beau Burns; 2 sisters, Laura Darlene (Rob) Wyman and Joy (Jack) Maxwell; 17 nieces, 22 nephews, 8 great-nephews and 1 great-niece.
Services for John will be held Thursday, June 18, 2015, at 6:30 PM at the Southside Church of the Nazarene, 3500 W. Fuson Rd, Muncie, IN 47302 with Pastor Andy Cole presiding. Friends may visit from 3 PM until time of service. It is the honor of HERITAGE FUNERAL CARE in Knightstown to be entrusted with all arrangements and care.
