Sheila Ann Chanadams 78, of Spiceland, IN passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 in New Castle, IN. She was born on February 3, 1938 to the late Francis Pottinger and Gladys (Fleckner) Darrah in Oxford, England. Sheila moved to the United States when she was 17 years old.
Shelia was a very proud lifetime member of the Transatlantic Brides and Parents Association. She loved and cherished time with family and grandkids. She was “Nana” to all her grandchildren and even some of their friends! She took pride in her yard and flowers. Sheila was a collector of end tables, tea pots and birdhouses.
She will be greatly missed by her 3 children, Suzanne (William) Meltzer, Linda (Denny) McGee and James Dethridge; a sister, Julie Jones; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and late husband John Chanadams, Sheila was preceded in death by her son, Shaun Chanadams; a brother Norman Pottinger, a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
Services for Sheila will be held Wednesday July 6, 2016 at 7PM at HERITAGE FUNERAL CARE in Knightstown. Friends may visit from 5PM until time of service. Burial will be private in Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
