Sandra Sue Kimmey, 75, of Knightstown, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in Greenfield, IN at Hancock Regional Hospice Center. She was born December 2, 1938 in Huntington, IN and was adopted in infancy by the late Orville and Altha (Belcher) Crim. She married Allen R. Kimmey in 1954. He preceded her in death in 1990.
She spent almost 30 years as a sales associate at Sears. She loved spending time with her family and her best friends, Peggy Riggs and Mike Garrett. She loved playing board and card games and working puzzles. Sandra collected teddy bears and bells of all kinds. She is known as the best Grandma ever! She was an extremely caring and loving Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma.
Sandra will be deeply missed by her 4 children, Sue (Jack) Bryant of Odessa, FL, Russ (Debbie) Kimmey of Katy, TX, Mark (Darlene) Kimmey of California, MD and Patty (Jeff) Hochstedler of Carthage, IN; 8 grandchildren, Allen (Laura) Eggleston, Kim (Matt) Schomp, Jeni (Shaun) Russo, Brent (Marlys) Kimmey, Cassi (Andy) Furey, Mindy (Ben) McTiernan, David (Alisha) Hochstedler, and Becki Hochstedler; 14 great-grandchildren and her beloved cat, Smoky.
In addition to her husband and parents, Sandra was preceded in death by a brother, John Crim, a father-in-law, Allen G. Kimmey, a mother-in-law, Edna Kimmey, and 2 twin grandsons, Brad and Brian Kimmey.
Services for Sandra will be Monday, March 24, 2014 at 1PM with Joe McIntosh presiding. Family and Friends may visit from 10:30AM to 1:00PM. Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Arrangements and care entrusted to Heritage Funeral Care in Knightstown.
