Karen Theresa Harwood, 53, a longtime resident of Kennard, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 in Indianapolis. Karen was born on March 22, 1961 in Grayson, Kentucky to Terry D. and Rosalind Pearl (Royse) Stephens. She married Kenneth on November 20, 1981. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a wonderful foster parent for over 15 years.
Karen will be greatly missed by her husband, Kenneth Harwood; sons, David Harwood, Jeremy (Jennifer) Harwood, Austin Harwood, Ray Harwood, and Adam Irwin (Lisa); daughter Ashley (Justin) Morgan; eight grandchildren, Kylee, Drew and Mickayla Harwood, Aurora, Ella and Korbin Irwin, Paige and Shelby Morgan; sisters, Bobbi Jo (Rick) Galloway, Cindy (Mark) Thompson, Lori (Joe) Bell; brothers, Michael Stevens and Mark Stephens; nieces and nephews, Jackie and Alex, Beth, Jessie Katie, Andrea, Spencer, Ally and Seth; several great nieces and nephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins; foster children, Jeremy, Devon, Sebastian, Christian, Kendal, Brock, Michael, Justin and several others.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl; son, Johnny Castellanos and foster child, Justin.
Services for Karen will be Sunday, October 12 at 4pm. Friends may visit from 1PM until time of service at Heritage Funeral Care in Knightstown. Bob Lines will be officiating. A private burial will be in Hicksite Cemetery in Greensboro, IN on Monday.
