Obituary for Charles William "Bill" Hewitt

Charles William “Bill” Hewitt 95, of Knightstown, passed away Thursday February 18, 2016 in New Castle, IN. Bill was born on July 2, 1920 to the late Donald Scott and Ruby Lucile (Leavelle) Hewitt in Knightstown. He moved to Anderson, IN in 1957 when he married Ruth Kuehn Fellinger, where they owned and operated Hewitt Electronics; he and his family returned to Knightstown in 1991. Bill is a veteran of WWII Army Air Corps. He was very proud to be a longtime member and president of Knightstown Lion’s Club.
Bill will be greatly missed by 2 sons, William J. Fellinger (Barbara) of Fairfield, OH and Robert E. Fellinger (Brenda) Park City, UT; 2 daughters, Barbara Jane Gragg of Gainesville, FL and Elizabeth Anne Isaacs of Knightstown, IN; 2 sisters, Barbara Jane (Bobbi) Hewitt of Pendleton, IN and Elizabeth Ann(Betty) Crawford of Liberty, IN; a nephew Mark (Jenny)Crawford; 3 nieces, Jayne Crawford, Linda Crawford, Emily Crawford, a nephew, John Crawford and, great-nephew Derek (Anne) Crawford and Emmerson; 22 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by his daughter Beverly Suzanne Myers, and a great-granddaughter Charlotte Schmaltz.
Services for Bill will be held Friday February 26, 2016 at 7PM at HERITAGE FUNERAL CARE in Knightstown. Friends may visit from 5PM until time of service. Private burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery Saturday, February 27, 2016. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bill to the Alzheimer’s Association online at www.alz.org/indiana or at the funeral home.
