Obituary for Richard Lee "Dick" Davidson

Richard “Dick” Lee Davidson, 81, of Knightstown, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, November 12, 2016 at Hancock Regional Hospital Hospice Unit.

He was born on April 22, 1935 in North Salem, Indiana to the late Everett and Helen Davidson.

Dick grew up in North Salem and graduated from North Salem High School then obtained a Master’s Degree in Education from Indiana State University. He began teaching at Ben Davis high school for 9 years before starting his career as Regional Vice President at Ivy Tech Community College in the Terre Haute and Muncie regions for 22 years.

Dick was a past member of the Terre Haute Lions Club. He enjoyed reading, playing golf and watching college sports, especially IU Basketball. He was known as Mr. Fix-it and a family man.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years, Janet (Jeffries) Davidson; a son, Steve (wife: Laura) Davidson; a daughter, Susan Hawk and two grandchildren, Michael Davidson and Maddi Hawk.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Paul Davidson.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Heritage Funeral Care with Pastor Curt Hunt officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, Wednesday at the funeral home.
