Monday I was privileged and blessed to be at my very good friends side when he took his last breath in this life and began the next phase of his journey. Dave you were like another father to me only you never got the chance to bend me over your knee and warm up my bottom! We had some great times out in the mechanic/welding/fabrication/paint/body/tire/ shop working on tractors, trucks, lawn mowers and anything else that had an engine on it, or just drinking beer from ole blue and BS'n. We laughed together at the foolish things we did, we cried together during some extraordinary tragedy and we celebrated. We celebrated babies, anniversaries, birthdays, weddings, holidays and life itself. My heart will forever have a hole in it that your presence use to fill. I am thankful that you and your family came into my life, it would have been 20 years ago this coming Sept. I wish I could have had another 20 with you. I will never forget that first tractor ride you gave me on the back of the "B" to show me around the property my new family and I were about to purchase next door to you. That was where it all began. Well for now farewell my dear friend until we meet again.
