Richard Allen Gibson, 57, of Indianapolis, passed away surrounded by family Tuesday afternoon, November 11, 2014. Richard was born in Somerset, KY on May 2, 1957 to Joseph W. and Helen (Silvers) Gibson. He was a loving and faithful father, brother, son, uncle, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend. He was very protective of his family and dedicated to them. He loved cooking, collecting walking canes and hats. Richard enjoyed crime TV, horseback riding and most of all time with family, kids and grandkids. Richard was a kind and caring person and had a wonderful sense of humor.
He will be greatly missed by his father Joseph Sr.; 2 daughters, Lori Clubs and Lesli Peters; his ex-wife, Marla Davison; 5 brothers, Joseph Jr., Larry, Stephen, Jeffery and Mark; 2 sisters, Lisa Norris and Lori Keith; 4 grandchildren, Frankie, Dusti, Lesli and Jevon; and 3 great-grandchildren, Frankee, Reese and JayLee.
He was preceded in death by his mother Helen and nephew Christopher Keith.
A graveside service for Richard will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 1PM at Brownsburg Cemetery, 190 E. 56th St., Brownsburg, IN 46112. Friends may visit Monday, November 17, 2014 from 4-8PM at the Nehemiah Bible Church, 1035 N. Oxford St. Indianapolis 46201. Services entrusted to Heritage Funeral Care in Knightstown, IN.
